Everybody ready to go!
On Sunday, June 3rd, I got together with my friends and folks from the Amador County Animal Control to all march together in the parade through Sutter Creek. It was not too hot this year so we all had a great time. Since it takes some time from when we line up to when we actually start marching, we had lots of time for play and catching up.
Again this year my friend Dozer pulled his cart in the parade with some kittens in the back. I told him to let some out when no one was looking so we could have some fun chasing them, but he is a good boy and wouldn't do it. I know Tina would, but she is a German Shepherd and they are always bad! So enjoy the pictures below that my mom, Trish, took.
Here we're all ready to go... just waiting for our turn.
Dozer was looking very spiffy with his cart of kittens. Of course, as a Greyhound I would never do this!
John and Peggy brought a couple of good dogs from the shelter. The white Shepherd, Eli, has an inspiring story to tell if you go by to see him. He told me that he loves visitors to come see him.
Here I am with Tina getting ready to go. I've got my racing silk on just in cast one of Dozer's cats gets out.
Wendy is waiting to start with my buddy Dozer. He's a patient guy and likes to go with the flow as long as there is a nap at the end.
Sally and Annie had the best seats in the house, riding in the Pinz. That is usually my place, but they look much better there. Besides, I can't do the queen wave as well as Sally!
Caroline came with two Shepherds that had fun and marched right along with us.
Cherie came too, with Mike and more Shepherds. I can't understand all these crazy shepherds... where are the Greyhounds?!
My mom, Trish, walked with me and Tina. That was the best part, Tina looked pretty with her ribbon but I think I was the most handsome dog there!
At the end of our group we had banners carried my mt dad's Pinzgauer. I hope we got the message out that there are many dogs and cats just waiting for home of their own where they will be loved. After all, there is someone for every family and lifestyle. And don't forget about us couch potato's... the Greyhounds!
